Following a successful Android release in July, SteelDrive was recognised at recent industry awards. The potential of the value SteelDrive has delivered has been recognised at the Australian Steel Convention, ASI Health & Safety Excellence Awards in the Improvement Initiative Category being awarded a High Commendation. As well at the Steel Transport Safety Network, Logistics Safety & Environment Awards in the Safety Improvement Initiative being awarded a High Commendation. Congratulations to BlueScope, TOLL and K&S Transport as sponsor partners of this initiative, as well to Buzinga App Development for powering SteelDrive!
We’re ready for the holidays now! We have just submitted version 1.1 to the App Store and it is currently ‘Waiting for Review’, this version should become publicly available by next week. We’ve been thrilled to have had inquiries as to how to gain access to the app. Announced at the 2015 ALC Summit, the development of SteelDrive was a cross-funded initiative between BlueScope, K&S and Toll. As part of this a 6 month exclusivity window was arranged for their use and uptake post go-live. This gives us a great opportunity to have contact with specific drivers and users to form a picture of the app’s use and what areas can be improved. The plan for 2016 is to come back to the industry mid-year with the findings from this ‘Phase 1 Beta Release’ and with plans for Phase 2 enhancements, at the […]
It is with great excitement that we’re happy to announce that SteelDrive is officially available on the Apple App Store! We even managed to capture the moment when we clicked ‘Release on App Store’ for a memento! This is a significant, and biggest to date, milestone for the SteelDrive initiative. It is the culmination of a 7 month development period for the platform (web portal and mobile app) which has been delivered on time and budget to the 4th December. (The delay seen in the release of the app comes from a week review process, having submitted the final build last Wednesday 2nd Dec) We’d like to thank our developers at Buzinga for their consistent hard work, they have met and exceeded expectations along the way and challenged us in areas where they felt improvements could be made, which has […]
With some agility and quick fixes we successfully migrated the SteelDrive admin portal to production last night. We’ll be keeping a close eye on it’s performance this week as it’s sitting in a completely new environment, our server host has been very responsive and are monitoring it as well. Straight on the heels of the portal migration, comes our biggest milestone to date! We have submitted SteelDrive v1.0 (Build 42) to the App Store and it is currently “Waiting for Review”. Again a big thank you to our developers Buzinga for helping us get this over the line! With the app now in review it’s release is dependent on the app review process, current estimates are that the review cycle will take 6 days, which will see the app released next week. That doesn’t mean feet up though, with a fresh […]
SteelDrive is on track and schedule to beta launch early December! This has been the result of a mammoth effort by our developers Buzinga, in collaboration with the SteelDrive team and our test users, thank you everyone. We’re up to build 41 of the app, it has come a long way from the demo version presented at the ALC conference only 3 months ago! We’ve been a bit light on the public comms lately as we haven’t had a chance to stop. Over October and November we have been meeting with different site locations and bringing them on board for SteelDrive. We developed this poster that will be hung at site’s that are available in the app. As well as this Welcome Pack for drivers, and this Photo Capture Process noticeboard flyer, to make sure that all stakeholders of SteelDrive […]
It was fantastic to hear all the feedback from drivers at the ALC Supply Chain Safety & Compliance Summit last month. The success of SteelDrive is dependent on the value that it gives to the key user, our drivers. With this recent information gathered from the Driver Feedback session, we can be sure that features built into the core of SteelDrive will be of great value. Loading Delays Currently delays at the loading point are not communicated to efficiently to drivers. Understanding this issue, and the compounding affect it can have to a driver’s schedule, SteelDrive will facilitate location to driver notifications on launch. Each site location will have its own web portal, this is designed to be a key part of the how the platform will work. Location personnel will be able use this portal to send notifications out […]
Last week SteelDrive had the opportunity to present for the first time to the Australian Logistic Council members at the 2015 ALC Supply Chain Safety & Compliance Summit. The team consisting of Andrew Mansbridge (BlueScope, Logistics Planning Leader), Ben Scollary (BlueScope, Business Analyst & Project Manager), Graham McCorkill (Buzinga, Co-founder and Managing Director) and Jason Couts (Buzinga, Project Team Lead) were in attendance for the two-day Summit. It was great to see so many ideas, best practices and identification of areas where improvements can be made to improve safety and compliance shared across the industry, this is where we aim for SteelDrive to play an active role for all. We were thoroughly interested in the afternoon session on Day 1 regarding ‘The Role of Technology in CoR Compliance’, chaired by Charlie MacDonald (Manufacturing, Transport & Logistics Industry Executive, Telstra, and […]
Last year at the ASI conference we brought to you an idea for a Load Restraint Mobile Application that aimed to enable all stakeholders of steel transportation to have access to the latest Load Restraint Guidelines and visibility of the restraints applied. Following a positive response and great interest from associated parties, we pressed ahead with our idea and are excited to now launch and share with you SteelDrive at this year’s ALC Conference, this Wednesday and Thursday the 26th and 27th August, 2015 at the Australian Technology Park in Sydney. We’ll be walking the hall on Day 1 with some information and handouts, and will be presenting from 10:30am on Day 2, so be sure to come over and see us! Look forward to seeing you there.
